Assassin rules in Guild Wars!

Nothing beats assassin in killing stuff fast. NOTHING! You can pump up to 160dps with daggers or 170dps with scythe. Imagine 170dps spread across 3 enemies, though only the 1 with asuran scan get to be hit that hard while others get around 100dps or so. Bad thing is that scythe build is too enchantment dependent, so I don't really like to use that build. Dagger is good enough to me, not to mention an assassin with dagger looks cool too!

Bought some stuff at the PC Fair last week. 50pcs of blank DVDs and a RM10 Everglide g-1000 gaming mouse. Can't imagine the mouse selling for RM10 when the original price is RM80? Those stocks were old, and some even have problems, such as having a stiff right click. The one that I bought have some sinking problem with the sensitivity down button, but it's no big deal, since 400dpi is very slow.

Thank god that the 4mbps streamyx unipack has finally come to my home. After waiting for a month or so, and 5 to 6 phone calls did they come and get the line upgraded. Can't expect much from government staff anyway. Now I'm just waiting for the netbook to come, with the gaming mouse to complement it~

Bought a new mousepad : Steelpad QcK Mini!

A new mouse pad! Gaming mouse pad at that too! Steelpad QcK Mini! The best among the cheapest mouse pad. Costs me RM 25 including postage. The reason I bought it is because I don't want dust settling inside the mouse feet. And because my table is not that smooth, buying this 1 will help preserve my mouse feet and table surface. Luckily it's black, so it won't be that distinguished when there's dirt on it.

I test played this mouse pad by playing Yuri's Revenge with my big bro. It feels a lot better than that hard surface table. After playing for an hour or so, my hand still feels comfortable. It's maybe the smallest mouse pad, but it's big enough for me. Thanks to it, me and my brother managed to defeat 6 Brutal AIs!(It's actually more to my skill)

I'm gonna try playing Guild Wars with the mouse pad next time. Time to sleep~

Maid-Sama! Episode 1

It's been a long time since I last watched anime, and I can't even remember which last anime I watched. But anyway, I read the otaku zone on Sunday Star and wiki-ed storyline of this anime, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama (The Student Council President is a Maid!). Guess what, it kinda reminds me of Ouran High School Host Club.

Let's see.....storyline for Ouran High School Host Club is roughly like this : A school girl has a secret and a bunch of guys from a club(You know what club is that!) are keeping her secret for a reason.

Storyline for Kaichou wa Maid-Sama is roughly like this : A school girl has a secret and a ~~bunch of~~ guy~~s from a club(You know what club is that!) are~~ is keeping her secret for a reason.

See the familiarity? I guess maybe it's the storyline that attracts me to this anime, since I really like Ouran High School Host Club, but there's only one season and I can't get enough of it :(

About the quality of the anime, can't say that it's what I expected or not, since I don't really expect anything in the first place. The voice actor are not bad (the Usui voice sounds kinda familiar, but I don't know where I heard it before), the OP/Ending music aren't bad too. Though there are some differences compared to the manga, the differences are quite good, let us have more insight into the lives of misaki's sister and mother.

If you want more romantic + comedy + school environment anime, you can't go wrong with Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.

Finished Halo : Contact Harvest

After reading the book for more than 1 month, I finally finished it. It was longer than I expected though, maybe because of the exams and games. When my friends started playing Red Alert 2, I joined in and played every time when there's a long break between lectures. For the exam, do I need to say more? Which 1 you would rather do? Study for exam or read how the first contact of humans and Covenant started?

I think the free 1 month Internet access for my phone also contributed to my increased duration of finishing the book. I was using the phone all time to surf the Internet at university, outside, anywhere when I'm bored. This makes me want to get a new phone since the screen on my phone is damn small, and it's not that enjoyable reading on phone(but it's bearable). I was thinking of getting QWERTY phone or touch screen phones to make web browsing easier, and to try out the new Opera Mini 5 too.

Now that Contact Harvest is done, there's still 1 more Halo book to finish. Colo Protocol is next on my list!

Eating Without PAYING (a.k.a stealing)

That's what happened in UCTI today. When I was in the cafeteria queuing up to pay my tab, I saw a middle-east guy ordered a spoonful of wedges on his plate of rice and began eating. I thought that maybe he just plain hungry, hence eating before paying the tab.

But when it was my turn to pay the tab, I saw that wedges have gone from his plate! I had a feeling that this guy wasn't going to admit that he ordered the wedges, since there weren't any on his plate. Too poor that you can't even pay for the wedges?

This action has put a new perspective in as to why the wedges are quite a bit expensive(you never gonna see me buying it). Is it because people been stealing the wedges, thus they increase the price to counter the loss? Or the price has always been like that, thus prompting people to steal it?

Damn...this thought reminds me of the piracy the game industry currently suffering. People pirate the game because it's expensive, because they are students, because this and that. To me, the reason is all the same, you do it because you can. You pirate the game because you can. You download all the movie because you can. Whatever reason they came up is just to justify themselves that it's alright to pirate what they what.

I hope that guy gonna get his punishment soon for stealing, by God or whoever or whatever.

Won a match against my friend in RA2 again~

Today during the 1 hour and 45 minutes break, I played RA2 : Yuri's Revenge on 1 vs 1 with my friend. It's really fun playing games with friends and WINNING against them. Their surprised and defeated faces are really worth it.

Today I played "Out of This World" map. And my faction was the Allied with the (useless) Grand Cannon. When I got into the map, I had a hard time deploying my MCV because of a stupid flag blocking the deployment. I moved a bit farther and still unable to deploy. I'm so pissed out that I just blew that stupid flag away and deployed back at the original place. And there goes my 30 second. Building up bases, getting engineers to capture the closest oil derrick, training IFV since just in case my friend sent rocketeers to screw my base.

With all that done, I began to create prism tank to blow up their $$ source (read : oil derricks). I sent 4 harriers to see if they can blew the oil derrick. And no, they can't (Black Eagle is way better). So I create another 4 harriers to blew them up. I sent my prism tank to destroy the outer oil derricks while letting the harriers to blew the ones on the inside. The chain reaction were just lovely.....3 oil derricks plus building beside it just BAM! Muahahaha!!! Even though non of my prism tank survived the ground retaliation, and 1 or 2 of my harriers went into oblivion, crippling his income is more than enough. Small price to pay for the shocked look on his face. HAHAHA~

Now that his economy was crippled, it's time to remove his Command Center. I created another extra 8 harriers to the total of 16 harriers, another 5++ prism tanks and 6++ IFVs. The prism tanks and IFVs were just distraction, making him focused on the threat at hand than the 1 that is coming. Drawing his concentration (with a few tanks of mine blew up), I sent all the harriers that I had at that time(14 of them) straight to the Command Center. His forces were busy chasing my IFVs, too concentrated at destroying them than looking at the minimap for the RED DOTS flying towards his base. His Gap Generator did nothing to prevent my predators from seeking out their prey. Voila! Say bye bye to your Command Center~

Realizing that his has no $$ nor Command Center, he sent his tanks and battle fortress to my base in attempt to annihilate me. Luckily my prism towers made short work of their invasion. No base, No $$, and he surrendered.

And that was FUN~ I can't wait to play another RA2 match with them again~

Bought a new armor for my Assassin

Got bored of the Elite Assassin Armor. It looked so spiky and kinda thorny in my eyes, so I decided to change into something more subtle looking. That is.....Norn Assassin Armor!

Looks cool right? The brown colored armor is the Elite Assassin while the yellow-brown colored is Norn. I think yellow-brown being used on the armor makes it look a bit like gold.

I decided to make the Norn armor out of the all type of elite armor because I have plenty of cloth!

See how much there are? I have 2k of it and it keeps increasing non-stop. Most of the character that I made doesn't use armor made out of cloth (I play melee characters), which makes it increase even more. Now I'm rolling a Elementalist to earn $$ while make him to wear elite armor that uses cloth.

Another thing happens when I was taking the screenshot of my armor. Keiran suddenly comes in and talk to Gwen. And it's different dialogue too! I immediately wikied it and found out that ANet has added additional dialogue. It seems that the Logan from Guild Wars 2 might be the descendant of Gwen and Keiran.

I can't wait to play Guild Wars 2 to see if it's true!

When there's nothing to do other than gaming and reading books.....

Anyway, I went to watch Zombieland yesterday. And I must say, it's very funny, at the same time it's quite exciting too. Shooting zombie non-stop. That is cool!

As this movie is for above 18, I had some......difficulties trying to buy the ticket. That ticket seller don't believe I'm an adult, but a god-damned teenager. I have to stress again and again I'm 19 and I can watch the movie then only he let me purchase the ticket. A$$hole. Maybe I should dye my hair again....

Back to Guild Wars. With Twinkies on the table.

Busy Week

Last week was a busy week......went to attend my relative wedding at 7 in the morning. Which in my opinion, is a crazy time. That's the time when people should still swimming in their dreams! Anyway, seems like the Chinese culture requires both the bride and the groom to give the older senior(their uncle, aunties and parents) tea to drink.

Enough about that. I went to farm Luxons points during the weekend since they awarded 2x the points you normally get. I farm about 1~2 hours in the US server. Needless to say, the distance between Malaysia and US is rather huge. I always lag a few steps when fighting with the other team. Thanks to that, I think I'm the reason why my team always lose :(

At least I get my title track to level 2 though. Coupled with other quests that offer Luxon points, I finally reached level 3. I was aiming for level 4 since the Luxon skill, Elemental Lord, has a recharge time of 45 second. My level 3 title will give me a duration of 44 secs, while level 4 will give 47 secs. With level 4 I will be able to keep the enchantment up indefinitely. But I will leave that to next time. Level 3 is already eating much of my concentration.

Big Bad Wolf Books (November 2009)

Just got back from Big Bad Wolf Books in Amcorp Mall. Compared to the last 1, it's kinda small though. At first I was kinda afraid that the books that I want, forgotten realms and other game books will be sold out. But after reading some blog about the same books fair, my fears were elevated. Seems like there's not much people want that kind of genre anyway.

As least they did separate the genre though, such as childrens, romance and fictions. There's a computer section too, with programming books and all that, but that section hardly have any people looking at it, even though they are right in front of the entrance. 2 tables full of programming books and nobody touch it. No surprise.

As for me, I almost buy every book that have the forgotten realms title on it. After serious considerations, I only bought a few, and praying that these books got good reviews. I also bought Magic the Gathering novels too, as they seems interesting. What piss me off the most is that the books they sell...there book 1 and book 2, but no book 3. Or there's book 2 and 3, but not 1. Even so, that doesn't deter my choice. I thought that next time any book sale or fair that come out I can get the remaining book.

That's the books that I got from there. From the Amazon reviews, seems like my choice aren't that bad after all. RM 56 for 7 books, not bad not bad. And having to carry the books without a box, I really got bitten with a wrist pain ==

As always, it's a pleasure going to Big Bad Wolf Books. The next 1 should be in May then, I hope :)

Game Dialog Box

Do you always read what's inside the dialog box when you play Role-Playing video games such as Dragon Age : Origins, Mass Effect? For me, I read every letter of it cause it looks interesting, not to mention the lore really sucks you in. Sometimes the options you can choose produce a rather...interesting after effects, like the Commander Shepard could either ignore a maniac mumbling something or beat him just to shut him up(I choose the latter). Needless to say, beating people will get more reactions out of the game :)

Although Guild Wars is also a RPG (CORPG to be specific), there are only 2 options, either yes or no. But how they present the options are rather funny...

Freezing Rainy Days.......

It's been really 'rainy' these days, and as I'm typing this post I didn't even open the fan. It' just cold. Waste my time going back and forth to the toilet >< I still have exams! While my place is rainy, lucky my house is suited just at the foothill, so there will be no way of flooding in my area. Bad luck to those who at the Kelantan though.

Crap...gotta go to toilet again....

World Meatless Day (Nov 25)

Poor Midas (my necromancer in Guild Wars). I guess it's worth going vegetarian a day for the good of earth (or Tyria in this case).

Well...there's Earth Hour, Earth Day and now World Meatless Day. Is there any day for earth that I missed out?

Never thought that eating meat will slowly kill the earth. Not to mention slowly killing us too. I guess I have to reduce my meat consumption, so I live longer, to play more GAMES!

Anyway, I hope you guys take part in the World Meatless Day though, so that the Earth will live longer, and I can play my games longer before the earth dies out. Especially Guild Wars :)

Big Bad Wolf Books is back!

If you haven't been following them in the facebook or twitter, this would have been an old news. I still remember the last Big Bad Wolf Books. It's a heaven for book lovers! Every fiction books at RM8, hardcover or softcover, trade paperbacks or not. I bought so much that I haven't even finished them >< (I read at a rate of 1~2 chapters per day before I went to sleep). After that I went to many booksale/fairs, not even 1 come close to the PRICE and VOLUME of the books. And now that Big Bad Wolf Books is back again...it's time to lighten my wallet~

Anyway, the time and venue is as follow, for all book lovers, be sure not to miss it!

Why I Skipped Class (Re-post)

This post is to promote the book “Why I Skipped Class”.

Side note : TNN restored my last post but unable to save this post. So I have to post it again, excluding the comments.

When I saw the thread title “Why I Skipped Class” in LYN Literary Lounge(by the way, this section is like the least entertained), I quickly click on it and read it. With a free ebook to download(though only the 1st section), I read it from 1 end to the other with great interest. I can relate it to me as how I really hate going to school only to sleep on it. If I can opt not going to school, I will. But alas, the missing attendance was going to eat my overall marks in my high school. And now I’m in uni, not having at least 80% attendance rate will not garner me a place in the exam hall

The book also touched the issue of whether being in the last class means that you are intellectually inferior. In my opinion, if you got a brain that can stored a lot of memory, you’re getting a place in the first class for sure. The education system only rewards those who can memorizes the best, like the god-damn Bio and Chinese lessons. We even have to memorize the formula for the mathematics and physics(That’s for the UEC exam). For Pete’s sake, I thought the most important thing is how you USE it, not how you MEMORIZE it?

Magic the Harvesting~

Ok. It's Magic the Gathering. Why do I say the Harvesting then? Story is as below...

Missing the morning SAD tutorial because of traffic jam, I went to APIIT, passing the foyer and caught a glimpse of Magic something. I though it's another 1 of those stupid magic tricks when I saw hand moving around in the TV they have set up. So I went to the syndicate room to meet up with my friends. And I saw a deck of card on the table. Curiously, I ask where it came from. As soon as I heard it , I ran back downstairs to get my hands on the cards. And hell! They are selling a 40/60 deck cards for RM 10 (Normal Price : RM 35). And there I was thinking which 1 I should get my hands on after I gotten 2 booster pack. I went for the "cannon fodder" deck, or "Nuts and Bolts".

And I even get a lesson on how to play the cards! It was confusing at first, but basic things like mana, health and attack slowly remind me of Warcraft TCG, which I read before. Now I kinda got a grip on how to play it, but I still have to practice though. And the harvesting begins...

I gather a few of my friends to get them register so I can get more booster pack(Thanks Tiny, Matthew and Xeleon). Funny thing is, the guys there doesn't even remember me at all. So I register for the SECOND time and got another TWO booster pack. I went there the 3rd time and the guys still doesn't remember me, but I decided to call it off. It's kinda bad doing that for the 3rd time. Seeing so many card but without the mana card, I bought "Domain" Deck so I have more mana card.

So...in the end I got 10 booster pack, 2 60-cards deck. Not bad not bad, RM 20 for 270 cards.

Got this keychain from answering some survey by Utar students. It was unexpected as they didn't say they will give me the keychain. After I got the keychain, my friends beside me complained "Why didn't I answer the survey too? I want the gift leh". Hahaha~ Guess they want a honest opinion~

Okay....let's rewind things back a few days ago. I won a RM20 Voucher from BookXcess with the blog post I wrote a few weeks before. Then on last Friday, I've been told that I won a Limited Edition Colbie Cailat CD (Breakthrough).

Anyway, I went straight to Amcorp Mall after snoring in the ASE class. I don't know why, but the ASE lecturer got some really amazing power of making people snore after listening to his lecture for the 1st 30 minutes. Everytime I try to fight to stay awake, I eventually succumb to his hypnosis...zzzzzzzzz.....

Since it's my first time at BookXcess, I took some time looking through the books. They got a moving column bookshelf to fill in the size of their products! Quite cool I must say! With the RM20 Voucher, I bought 2 books, Brisingr(RM19.9) and Perfect Dark : Second Front(RM17.9). Quite cheap I must say, knocking off the RM20 off the bill, resulting like around RM9/book.

When I take the voucher, I was expecting something like a friendly congrats or I don't know, just something! I feel like I just another customer(Which I am). But can you girls like, giving me some congrats? Don't tell me that you TYPE it in your blog so you don't need to say it out.

After that, I went straight to The Sun building since MalaysianToday is an associate partner of The Sun. Lucky it's a few minutes drive from Amcorp Mall. As I went to take the CD, it's dejavu all over again. The lady who is responsible for giving the prize, totally went straight to the point, no congrats or whatever. "Your IC and the email printout", "Thanks", "Goodbye". That's all.

Did I just murdered both your parents? What The Hell with the cold response, the GTFO response? For Pete's sake! Can you just give some winner feeling! Last time I won an iPhone, almost all the people who greet me with friendliness when I come to take the iPhone. I was so happy that time, both for the prize and the welcome. Anyway, the Limited Edition doesn't look like Limited Edition at all. It's just a plain Malaysia Edition, which I can get from CD-RAMA for RM 30. Nothing special. No autograph or whatever. I'm really wordless.........

Any Limited Edition thing you can see? Nope? I guess so. Well, look on the bright side. At least it's free.

PC Games sucks! And it's because of us...

I have been very very busy all this week...reading The War of The Spider Queen Book 4 and writing articles. The The War of The Spider Queen series are quite interesting in the sense that each 1 keep backstabbing each other and it's the culture of the drow.

Anyway, back to the topic. Why I say they sucks? Because it's the truth. No game developer gonna make a PC-exclusive title anymore, except MMO developers. Piracy is rampant. You make a good game on PC, and it's bound to get pirated in a small amount of time. Cheap game, DRM-free game, any game. Those anti-DRM activist are just losers, saying that removing DRM will lessen the piracy rate, where it just get pirated even more and faster.

As a result of this, more and more game developers just rather create their games for console, since the piracy problem is lesser on console. And the result is? No more Marvel Alliance 2, no Fable 2. Even if it's gonna release on PC and console, you have to wait a long long time to get your hands on the PC version. People would rather use their money to buy good pair of shoes, jeans or car, but too cheap to buy original games.

When you buy original game, it's not that you are rich, it's that you acknowledge the effort of the developers to make such a good game. Sometimes when I hear people saying that people who buy original game are rich people, and poor people should pirate the game, I smack my own head on such a childish statement. I know a friend of mine(not rich, by the way, and not poor either) who saves his money to buy original games, checking shops to see which 1 is the cheapest. I salute you! Just because he own PS3 doesn't mean he's rich. You can sacrifice some other part to buy the game, like eat less, or buy less clothes.

You don't have to play every game out there, just buy those you think you can enjoy the best, or the ones you can make the most out of it, like Team Fortress 2, where there's are still many players despite being released few years ago. Moreover, buying the original games with your hard-earned money, I bet you gonna play it over and over again, since you earned it after restraining yourself from buying other stuff.

I think this is my time to say goodbye to the piracy. Though I hardly expect those who read this gonna turn away from piracy anyway, as not much can be expected from HUMAN.

My semester break...just give me a break!

Last week is my semester break...but I don't feel like it's a break at all. Tuesday and Thursday have to go to Jit Ren's house for assignment meeting, Saturday is Malaysian Study final exam(Please let me pass!).

What has become of holiday!@&% Shouldn't holiday is a damn time for us to rest? Do what we want to do? I just want to play some games and write some articles! ARGH!!

By the way, now I can use my computer expertise to help me earn some $$. My big sis's friend is opening a company and she need some people to help write some articles! Seems like my last tech blog impressed her~ MUAHAHAH~

Thought I can get the article done in the break, since I thought I can get 1 article done every day. Now I know what is writer's block(curse you!@^&), cause there's a few days my mind is totally blank and I can't think of what to write! Not to mention coming back from Jit Ren's house after 6 hours++ to do those accursed assignment is very tiring, both mentally and physically. I just fall asleep after I came home from his house.

I kinda promise myself to concentrate and read Malaysian Study(looks more like History to me) on Friday. But just looking at it, I recalled the secondary school days, where I don't give a crap about history. And so...I went to play Guild Wars and only study 3 hours before the exam. And I kinda writing bulls*** on the exam.

Now I still got 2 more articles to write. And then I'm gonna do the ICP and OOEP assignment. What a life! Not to mention I still have to finish Warhammer 40k novel so I can quickly start reading the Forgotten Realms my FBIL(Future Brother-in-Law) lent to me.

Anyway, here's a random picture. My mom got it from the KL Tower. Never thought they gonna sell something like that. And I bet it's gonna be a totally expensive.

I guess I will just bottle up frustration and get it over with...

Microsoft is thrashing Linux

I guess Microsoft is kinda scared of Linux taking it's market share, so they are teaching BestBuy's employee how to persuade customer to choose Windows over Linux. This is the mirror of the original post. Picture is sourced from ars technica. I only display a few "interesting" pictures.

If Microsoft have never used Linux before, I guess it is forgiven. There is a choice where you can opt to update or not, and optional upgrade has it's own tabs.

Just now it was saying too many updates, now it states there maybe no update. Kinda hypocrite, isn't it? Anyway, Linux is indeed safer than Windows. There is no anti-virus for Linux, but you have TONS of choice of anti-virus for Windows, never knowing which 1 is the best.

Anyway, considering that most people doesn't really know about Linux, telling them this or that about Windows is better than Linux, they are going to accept it. Those who are tech-savvy can keep preaching how Linux is better, but for those who aren't tech-savvy, it's their money after all, they can buy whatever they want.

BookXcess Shop & Blog

I like books. No no no, I LOVE books. And I love cheap books even more! Hence you always see me going to many book fair such as BookFest, Times Bookfair, BigBadWolfBooks.

But...these book fair don't always pop up like mushroom after rain. They have time limits, durations. Sometimes I might just be very busy and not being able to attend these book fair (Yeah, fat chance of that happening). Not to mention you have to go there and FIND the books you want, and not all bookfair caters to my taste.

Thanks god there's a bookshop that sell cheap books (Read : Cheap NEW Books). You might wonder how they do that, cause I was wondering that too. Apparently they sell their books by buying overprint book from publishers. This explanation is just to tell you that what they do is VERY VERY good! As long I get to buy cheap books, who cares!

If you want to know if their shop is selling the books you want, you can go to their website or just drop them an email to ask, it's just that easy! Save both petrol fee and time. I ask them about the books I want twice and their reply is very fast.

That is about their shop. Now here comes their blog.

I must say, they are rather clever weaving their blog. Reviews, contests and pictures, all in a blog. By just following their blog, you get to know their latest offers, and reviews too, though the review is rather simple. Just recently, I got to know from their blog post that there are REALLY REALLY big bookshops in countries, and that kinda giving me the urge to go and visit those bookshops.

Sometimes in their blog, you get to know some password to buy books at a discount or maybe just get a book from FREE! So before you go rushing to their shop, take some time and read their blog for hidden treasures, you never know what you might find.

Talking about contest, they have a BookXcess Blog Bonanza every week or so. Since their shop is about books, these bonanza mostly ask you to write this and that (Like what I'm doing now~ Writing about their blog to get the RM20 voucher~). Since you got nothing to lose by writing (except wasting some time trying to write some thing out of the ordinary), might as well just take part in it.

Anyway, I kinda have a liking to the BookXcess. Most bookshop in Malaysia don't even have a blog to promote their stuff, and they expect them to come to the shop to see if there's anything special. Praise their effort to get close their readers and shoppers!

Bookfest/Rojakfest Malaysia 2009

If you have been reading newspaper for the last few weeks or so, you should know there's a Bookfest in KLCC. And it's RM2 per entry, unless you < 18 years or > 60 years old.

Yesterday, I went to the Bookfest with both my sis. With my youthful looks, I cheat my way inside. I only become 19 years old for 2 weeks only, and I ain't gonna pay RM2 to go to a bookfest! The same can't be said for my Big sis, who sometimes people thought she's my mother! (Muahaha!)

I sort of expected this bookfest becomes worst time by time, as the favorite section of mine keeps getting lesser bookshelves.

About the Rojakfest on the title, I think this Bookfest is slowing morphing into a Book/Camera/Computer/Music/Stationary/bag fest. Don't believe me? Look at the photos! Slowly but surely, the book percentage inside the bookfest is slowly taken away by other non-related items.

I didn't went to Hall 1~2 since those 2 halls is full of Chinese books anyway. So I didn't buy anything in this Bookfest.

I can't wait for them to come back ~ My little sis went to Johor for some school trip and my Big sis coming back from Aussie for [I don't remember] reason. Big sis will be bringing back some books which I have waited for so long to read! The War of the Spider Queen~ I have book 1~3 and 7~9. Sucks to read 7~9 if I don't know what happened in the middle.

On a side note, I broke 1 of the push pin of Intel cooler. The only way that I don't have to go buy another replacement cooler is by screwing the cooler onto the motherboard (In which I did, with my dad's help). Man...Intel should really redesign the push pin rather than redesign the their CPU logos == Lucky AMD doesn't have that kind of a problem (My next computer is going to be AMD!).

CodeMasters seminar

Went to the Codemaster seminar at my uni. Forgot to mention, our APIIT also got H1N1 case too! The guard was checking everyone temperature and I slipped inside when he was checking others~

12th August was my birthday. And I have a feeling that my luck just increased a wee bit on birthday.

Normally on morning 8am, the highway to APIIT will usually be congested. Not to mention it rained a few hours before...and it's gonna be hell of a traffic jam. Well, lucky me, there's hardly any traffic jam after the first small part of a road. That day is the earliest time I ever went to APIIT...yet.

And when I go and buy the Xbox 360 Controller, it costs me only RM70, down from RM90. I think I played some part in confusing the seller...hehe....or perhaps it's a discount for coming there even if it's raining~

Now for the birthday PARTY my friends had for me...

During the first lecture, my friends act as if today there's nothing happening, and I go along with them...who would have thought these have have evil plans brewing inside their minds....

After that lecture, they suggest going to the mamak restaurant at ENT3 to buy some canned drink. On the way back to APIIT, they opt to go for the grassy path rather than the staircase. Midway through the grassy path, I think I heard Long Kor and Jitren starts saying "Ready or not" or something like that. Looking the posture of Long Kor ready to blast the canned drink at me, I ran like dog chasing after me. I didn't get splashed from the FIRST can, but the other can, gave me some mild splashing. phew....the worse has yet to come...

Back at APIIT, they decide to choose an empty room and starts stripping my clothes off. Getting raped by men sucks big time! Just like back in Chong Hwa where they aruba and chair you when it's your birthday ><

Anyway, that's all for my birthday~ I'm not really a birthday guy. Not to mention that I won something from the Times~

G.I.Joe : The Rise of the Cobra short review

Firstly, I not a G.I.Joe fan, other than knowing it's a line of toys from Hasbro.

Second, thank god the cinema have advertisement for twenty minutes, if not I will surely missed the 1st 20 minutes of the movie. We had to crawl over the line divider since the ticket collector went to god knows where. Our ticket is still fully intact after the movie ends.

G.I.Joe, same as Transformers, is a line of toys made by Hasbro. And I must say....it's A DAMN GOOD MOVIE!!!! If you like the Transformers, I bet you will like this film too.

The CGIs are cool, the weapon are cool and the characters are cool too! There are random funny jokes too. And seeing Snake Eyes dishing out with Storm Shadow. Whoa! Reminds me of Darth Maul(Star Wars 1) fighting with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. By the way, the actor(Ray Park) who portrayed Snake Eyes is also the actor of Darth Maul! I just love the sword fighting!

Some might complain the CGI looks fake on eye, but I can't tell the difference, or maybe I just don't care. It looks good enough for me. The character development are quite good too, by the way of showing flashback. That brings you up to speed to knowing the character if you're not a G.I.Joe fan.

IMO, this movie deserves a 4.5/5. I wished it is longer though, like Transformers 2~

I won an iPhone 3G 8GB from this contest. Wish me luck to convince the Times to let me use my prepaid rather than using the iValue plan.

I hardly use over RM10 in a month and now that plan wants me to pay RM100 per month for at least 12 months? Siao ar? I just paid RM33 for the 365 days validity leh!

I would rather top up a little bit for the iPhone rather than using the plan.

Now I wonder if it's lucky for me to win it or unlucky to win it.

Anyway, back to Guild Wars.

By the way, what would you guys and girls do if you won an iPhone? Sell it or use it?

Human Sandwich Fair

That's the other name I gave to PC Fair. No joke cause you really got sandwiched by MANY MANY people!

Anyway, back to the fair. Promised to meet my friends at 1 pm. Apparently we got confused about the meeting place and end up skipping the PC Guru section of the fair to find him, Joel. Stupid me didn't hear what the other friend was talking over the phone. Jitren was rather...unsatisfied...because skipping the PC Guru means skipping the girls in there too. So typical of him == and so lucky of me. Though I'm still curious what they were showing in the PC Guru though.

Anyway, we walk around, look at things, getting squashed by hordes of humans. Waves and Waves of humans!

Me and Joel doesn't have anything to buy, but as always, Jitren will surely splurge $$ in every pc fair. Not once I seen him not using $$ in pc fair.

The most annoying thing in the pc fair, other than the hordes of humans, was the cursed Kaspersky video advertisement, featuring Jackie Chan giving the viruses some butt-kicking action.

There were 4 Kaspersky booths in the fair. To even look at 1 already bringing pain to my eyes. 4 of them? I almost cried.

I saw something unexpected though, was that the razer booth was selling original games for RM40 only! Of course the game they selling was older games, but they games received high scores in the reviews! The games that I wanted to buy was the Warhammer 40k : Dawn of War + Winter Assault. 1 game + an expansion for RM40 only. I was having though decisions whether to buy it or not. 1st reason, haven't finished my Guild Wars. 2nd, there's assignment I have to do. If I bought it 1st, I swear I can hear whispers from the game, telling me to play it...yes...play it...serve your God-Emperor...Burn the Heretics...

Damn it...maybe I should go back there and buy it...and serve the God-Emperor...stop it...

On the other note, I also saw people wearing masks to prevent the A(H1N1). Weaklings! Too weak to die! Jokes aside, Jitren says that people wearing masks look more stand out, and cuter. Whatever.

In the end, I walk out of the pc fair with some past magazine issues of GameAxis and a reusable bag(Just answer some survey and you will get the bag at HWN booth).

After parting with my friends, I went to meet up with my dad and sis with the thought of going home. And my sis told me that she saw some good looking bag inside the fair, thus forcing me to go back into the fair again...

After that ordeal, I went back home, take a good bath and sleep like a dead person.

My little movie and book fair day

I watched Harry Potter : The Half-Blood Prince last Saturday with my friend. To be frank, it's sucks. And boring. Almost fall asleep too. Seems to me like that movie pacing is too fast(Maybe because I read the book?), from one scene jump to the other scene. Compared to Transformers, Transformers FTW! IMO, Technology > Magic. (Don't bash me Harry fans!)

After watching it, we walked from Times Square to KLCC to meet up with my sis. And then we went straight to Capsquare for the book fair organized by Times. When we arrived, there's hardly any people around there. That can hardly be blamed, since this place is almost non-existent. Some of the pics from the book fair.

Compared to the BigBadWolf book sale, this 1 is rather dissapointing. Not all the book have the same price point, and the selection are not that much. They didn't specify which section is fiction or non-fiction and forced me to search through all the table to find the fiction book that I wanted. Anyway, if you really like books and you stay near the Capsquare, you can check it out. Otherwise, just stay home and surf the web.

In the end, I only bought 2 books that interested me.

Coming back to home from uni, there's 2 minor car accidents and 1 car breakdown, slowing down the traffic. What a LUCKY day...

When I reached home, there's a squirrel ran into the corner of my dog's house. Ran too fast that I can't take it's pic. Had to flush it out using water hose. BAM! Muahaha...now it's a wet squirrel. Gave it a wet lesson not to come into out home anymore.

Finally bought a new speaker system after my previous 1 broke down. I wasn't really thinking of buying a new speaker system, it's just that I suddenly saw a brochure stating that this speaker system, Edifier M1350, is selling for RM 70(normally RM 90) in a tech shop near my house. Suddenly my impulse buying went on and I just bought it down after a brief thinking~

I don't think I accomplish much in my 1 month holiday though.

Plan to make a game : didn't do it.

Finish a book : nope.

Played games all day : you bet I did.

Today is the second day of my second semester. And my friends asked our last sem maths teacher about the final exam. He said there is like 30% people failed in the exam. I hope it not me...not me...

Looking at the timetable for this sem, I think it's quite good. Less LONG break in between periods. The longest is just 1 hour 40 minutes. Last sem the longest break is 5 freakin' HOURS. It's so BORING sitting at the uni doing nothing.

Anyway, back to Guild Wars. Again.

BSOD....and along came Windows 7

I never used Windows Vista. Except in university of course. All my machines never even heard of this Vista thing.

Because of all the horrendous review I've heard of it.

But my main computer keep having this BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death) thing that makes me cannot do anything. And I couldn't find the solution with my good friend, Google.

So I decided to reformat my machine. But I kinda bored of Windows XP since it doesn't have DirectX10. I wanted to install Ubuntu but I want to play games. So I install the Windows 7 RC.

Installation is quick. Less than 30 minutes and I can login to the desktop and begin downloading stuff.

So far so good. RAM usage is below 600MB when there's nothing in my desktop.

But I still prefer Ubuntu though, since it virus-free, anyware-free. Too bad I'm a gamer. A hardcore gamer.

Let's just hope there will be no BSOD from now on.

I've got my Guild Wars game! Confused? Let's start from the beginning...

First the God created a man, He named him Ray and told him to game all his life or his balls will be shot by lightings I ordered the game last week after I finished the 10 hour trial. By the time I finished, the words "Guild Wars" kept swimming back and forth in my mind.

So I just decided to buy it from here. After some email sending and receiving, they told me they don't have Guild Wars Trilogy anymore. But they offer me Guild Wars Factions Platinum Edition + Guild Wars Eye of the North + Guild Wars Night Fall Bonus Pack for RM138. I thought it's damn cheap for 3 stand-alone game and 1 expansion. How naive I was.

Anyway, I cash-in and was waiting from them to send it to my home. What really sucks was that I woke up too early. By too early I mean 6am. 6 AM! And I had to wait for the package to come in which I have no idea when it would arrive.

6~8am : reading feeds.

8~9am : reading newspaper outside my home, so I can get ASAP.

9~10am : I started jumping around nervously.

10~10.55am : Almost got an heart attack, but the package finally arrived. How happy I am.

Anyway, I should have known that the deal is too good to be true, "Guild Wars Factions Platinum Edition + Guild Wars Eye of the North + Guild Wars Night Fall Bonus Pack for RM138". Apparently Guild Wars Night Fall Bonus Pack is just the bonus pack. There's no NightFall game included. It's my stupid fault for not asking it earlier.

Project Fix DVD player

My dad's DVD player had a little bit of a problem long time ago. And I don't have time to look into it until today. The problem is that the DVD tray wouldn't come out.

And so I stripped the DVD player's cloth outer shell.

After much tinkering, apparently the problem is that the motor is too weak to move anymore. So dad, next time can you buy a DVD player that's not made in Malaysia!?!?

That DVD player is cheap for a damn reason, it will automatically malfunction after >2 years. Just think it as a long investment. Buying branded DVD players can last a you a long time. So we don't have to waste our $$ next time to buy another no-branded DVD player (I'm a thrifty freak, okay?).

Went to watch Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen on Wednesday. With Brem Mall being virtually unknown to other people, we (jitren, shyshy, tiny and me) booked our ticket easily(okay, we arrived early too).

Perhaps we arrived TOO early (movie starts at 2.30pm and we came at around 1pm), having 1 and a 1/2 hour to waste, we went to get some food. At first I thought we gonna eat at the food court.

Since we were at a new place, we walked around before deciding which restaurant would have 4 nothing-to-do boys coming to their place to eat. Of all the places, they decided on a CHINESE restaurant.

Anyway, we walk back to the cinema. Jitren and Shyshy decided to buy the popcorn + pepsi because they might have a chance to win Transformers T-Shirt. And that cost us not being able to watch 4 minutes intro of the movie. 4 minutes >< &^%Q^%W&E&(Q*&W(

Now, about the movie. IT's FREAKING GOOD! And so many Chevrolet cars too (God bless America)! That movie was so funny that I thought it was comedy flick rather than action. It's entertaining see how those Decepticons squashed the helpless humans. Muahahaha! Who told them to stand so close to them? Not to mention how Autobots and human could cooperate so good like they are best buddy.

What angers me the most was that someone dare bring a >5 year old kid into the cinema. And that kid siting a few chairs beside me. Thank god that kid didn't cry, he/she just make some sound and mimic how the Autobots talk. If that kid dares cry, I swear I will slap his/her face and kick him/her out of the cinema.(Joking, of course)

P/S : Michael Jackson died this day. Let us mourn him for all the songs he had made. RIP, MJ. Just don't go to the heaven and find little boys to play with again. OK? I'm Bad, I'm Bad, You know it~

The first "code" was quite easy, and I sent back my reply in PROPER malay. Just to give him a hint that YOUR MALAY SUCKS!!! USE THE PROPER MALAY NOOB!!!! And the next reply...

How many subjects did I take for my SPM?

Let me think....Chinese, English, English GCE-O, Malay.......the 3 science subjects, Physics, Biology, Chemistry.........and 2 maths, Modal Maths, Add Maths and...........the 2 LAP SAP subject, History and Moral.

Total is 11 subjects! And I got 5 As.

I had a hard time remembering all things in the subjects that I took in my SPM. What about those taking 15 subjects and up? Revising for 11 subjects is hard enough that I have to let go a few...non-essential subjects...

Those taking 15 subjects must have had their face buried in the book since the start of Form 5, or maybe Form 4. In the end, when you go up to university, the result would have been useless and you are back to square 1.

Now the ministry of education says that the maximum subject you can take is 10, or is it 11? Anyway, I think that's a good move, taking too much subject might take a toll on students' social life.....if they even have a social life......

To see that each year, student after student taking more subject and getting more As....really makes me sigh....in the end nobody really gives a S*** about how many As you got, but how much $$ you're making....and the more the better~

This is life~ Face it~ Show me the money~ And not your As~

For those who have no idea what the heck is Alienware, it's a company that sells gaming desktop and laptop. If you got the money, you can configure a LAPTOP that have 2 graphics card inside, provided you can pay for it. Anyway, Alienware is under Dell, which we all familiar with their brochures hogging our newspaper, and they have come to our shore recently.

Wanting to pass my time, I decided to check out their site on the new Alienware M17x. The base price is RM8.5k, compared to my measly RM1.5k laptop. Playing with the custumizing option, I created the most powerful(and expensive) version of M17x, which costs RM 26,673! You can buy a new Kancil car or a second-hand Proton Waja with it!

Actually, this speaker of mine have been with me for at least 2 years before 1 of it went malfunction. The right side is unable to produce sound, maybe because I always plug in the headphone jack into the speaker and finally it went kaput. Anyway, to fix this sound inequality, the genius brother of mine showed me a simply solution.

My first exam in APIIT

Tomorrow's is my first exam in a university environment. And 1 thing about exam.

I hate them!

Imagine sitting in a place for 2 hours where you can't look around nor move around and being forced to stare at the exam paper whether you know how to do it or not.

Well, how the university conducts their final exam is rather different from how my school. If I remember correctly, during my high school we just needed to bring our stationary to the exam place and starting writing.

However, even it's just an semester exam, we already have to bring some sort of docket to be allowed into the exam hall. Scary thing is that if you lost it, you have to get a replacement for around RM15.

A trip down the Memory Lane~

I was looking for a tripod in my dad's room and suddenly come across a familiar looking bag. As I opened it...I remembered....it's the camera bag that I used when I was in the photography club when I'm in Form 1.

Talk about Form 1...that time my body is so big I thought I was related to Naughty Professor. Don't believe me? Take a look...

Damn FAT leh! And the me now...

The difference is like sky and earth.....

Anyway, back to the camera...

That camera is no ORDINARY at all...it's a SLR camera! Worth around RM 2k++ !(10 years ago, of course, now I can sell it as an antique)

There you go~ The short lens and the long lens~ This is the first camera I used to take girls picture. Mind you, it's something I have to do since it an assignment.

About the photography club, it's like 60% didn't give a damn when the hired guy teaching us aspects of photography. Me, being a good boy, stupidly go and copy all the notes. Stupid and naive....

I still remember our club went to the some garden and take the photos of flowers(I think)...

Well...in the end I didn't find the tripod. But at least I found something that my brain still remembers~

It took me 9 hours to get 3 assignments(Tutorial 8~10) done. And I feel damn proud~

Police or Robbers?

I don't normally talk about politics cause they are, in a sense, very...dirty...But this news just pissed me off. A LOT.

Today on The Star newspaper, the police justified their raid on DAP HQ without a god-damn warrant yesterday by implying that speed is of the essence, and the police afraid that the DAP might remove all the evidence.

HAHAHAHA, that is the stupidest (<—such a word exist?) excuse I have ever heard! I bet the raid police conducted on criminal premises would at least have a permit or warrant to go and raid it. This is LAW. And Police are acting ABOVE the LAW.

According to wikipedia,

Robbery is the crime of seizing property through violence or intimidation. At common law, robbery is defined as taking the property of another, with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear.

Sounds so much like the raid on DAP HQ. I think robbery would have been a better word than raid on their actions on DAP HQ. Our police are no better than robber. To me, they are robber in disguise.

How am I being standout in life? Actually...I have no idea actually...but I know there's few things that makes me rather...unique...

1st : I'm a sucker for computer things. Place a girl and a computer together, I choose computer anytime of the day~

3rd : I like sweet things, but I hate cakes. Sweets, ice cream, slurpee, I love them all. Just don't give me cakes. Eating them make me want to vomit. That's why in my birthday, I ordered pizza rather than cake.

4th : I don't like most of the sports, but I like bows and katanas. Too bad there's no kendo club or archery club in my school.

I was planning to write this post yesterday but I was too fixed on playing game after passing up my assignment. Game FTW!

Being a lover of books, Me and my sister went to the Big Bad Wolf Books(BBWB) last Friday to buy some books for reading pleasure. THe price for a fiction book is RM 8 and Programming Books are below RM15.

A busy Weekend...

Saturday I went to watch Angels and Demons with jitren in Berjaya Times Square. That movie is rather good...kinda makes me think that fanatics are rather scary...

Went to SpeedyCut to get a haircut. I kinda like that place because it get your hair done in 15 minutes for RM 13. More time for me to do other things. That place also gives us a coupon that lets us get free haircuts once we got 5 chops on the SpeedyCut Loyalty Card...kinda cool~

After that we went to Lowyat to buy things (CD for me, pendrive and mouse for jitren) and went back home~ Not before stopping by at Times Square again to see some cars. For those who like fast cars, there's NISSAN GT-R in display there! Nobody dares open the door to sit in the car though, what they do is touch the car. There's a lot of fingerprints there...

My Ubuntu CD has arrived!

After requesting for a Ubuntu CD 3 weeks ago, the CD has finally arrived! For those who don't know, Ubuntu is a

community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need - a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more.

By the way, the CD, the sticker and the postage are free, basically, from the CD manufacture place to my mailbox, I don't have to pay a cent. You can request for it to be shipped to your place here. Or you can download it if you don't want to wait as it takes 4~10 weeks for the CD (Although it took 3 weeks for the CD to be sent to my place).

If you ask me what I do with my Ubuntu on my lappie, I use it to do everything except programming VB.NET and playing games.

Now I'm waiting for the Kubuntu CD to be shipped to me~

Forgetful Day...

Let me say something 1st. I have a memory of an old man. I can forget a name in 5 minutes if I don't know his Christian name, 10 minutes if I know his Christian name. If I don't touch a programming code for 1 week, I have to relearn them again. If I don't say a language for 1 month, I don't think I can say a complete sentence without adding some foreign language.

So today, after brushing my teeth and took a bath, I ran to the car prepare to go to APIIT. Before going inside the car, I just realize my sight has been blurry. And my hair has been poking into my eyes very often. Ops, I forgot to wear my very important thing. It's my...

...spectacles! Imagine the whole day I have to sit in the very front of the class to take a good look at what the lecturer is writing! And I'm someone who likes to sit behind and look at the whole class! Lucky my long hair poke me enough to make me remember!

And just now at APIIT there's a Sony Ericsson road show booth, promoting some new phone model. Thanks to my forgetful nature, I forgot to go and take some photos when during my free time...argh...I think my friend jitren might be disappointed too...since there were some show girls promoting the phone.

Then at the LRT station, where I forgot to bring my Touch'n'Go card, causing me to queue up to buy the tickets.

When I heard the train coming, I quickly ran up to the stairs to catch the train. Thank god I manage to catch it...only to see that my phone come up with this when I dial *122#

Oh great ! I forgot to reload my phone AGAIN ! Luckily there's a friend of mine, Lee Hong, who also use LRT to go home, kindly lend me his phone (Thanks Lee Hong!) to call my dad to pick me up.

What a forgetful day...

Lunch at Station 1

Station 1...a rather interesting name I must say...Anyway, me and my friends went there to grab a bite at that place on Thursday since there's 5 freakin hours break before the next lesson. 1st 3 hours my friends was playing left4dead and I was playing around with Ubuntu(for those who doesn't know, it's a Linux OS), last 2 hours we went to Station 1 for a bite.

Actually, we were deciding whether to eat a Papa Cafe or Station 1. Being a cheapsake person, I suggest that we go to the cheapest cafe. My friends never went to the Station 1, so they decided to go there to try it out.

Oh my god...I think the cheapest food there is is the noodle soup, that costs around RM 8 (8 plates of roti canai...) and the cheapest cold beverage with TASTE costs RM 1.6. So I ordered Spaghetti with Ham and Black Pepper sauce (RM8.50) and Wu Long Tea (RM1.60). My friends ordered rice + chicken kind of food.

Dilemma of Choosing a Notebook

Last Monday was a rather hard day for me...since I don't know if I should get a notebook or not! I know I'm a computing student and without a notebook...seems rather peculiar...it's like being a monk who doesn't eat vegetables...

When I was thinking whether should I buy, I kept checking which notebooks belong the cheap category and among the category which is the best value. I don't want to use more than 1.7k to buy a notebook. If you ask why I set such a low standard, it's because my main machine has always been my desktop.

After finding the range of notebooks that's below 1.7k, I begin estimate how much each component worth. And add them up together too. And discuss with my friends and brother which 1 would be suitable for me too. What a troublesome week that is...just to buy a notebook...

Even on the day of buying the notebook, I'm still thinking whether it's a need or a want...and how much teh tarik and roti canai I can get with the RM1.5k...(By the way, it's 681 sets of teh tarik and roti canai.)

In the end, I bought the Compaq Presario CQ40-406AU which costs RM1.5k in Tesco. The specs are as follows (the geek inside me just want to type it out!):

Beside, I put a lot of things inside my bag to pass my time in APIIT. And I bought a big-a$$ Gigabyte mouse (RM39) also since I can never understand why most people like to use such a small mouse with thier BIG hands! (I got long fingers by the way). I installed Ubuntu 9.04 just to play around with Linux OS~

I just hope that I didn't make a mistake buying it though...and I hope it can last me for 3 years...

This post is gonna be full of words! No pictures! Cause I forgot to bring my camera with me...

Today, with another 5 hours of break before the next class, me and my friends decide to head to cinema to watch the new X-men movie. I was quite troubled about going there or not since I don't know if I have to pay student price(RM 7) for the movie. Xiao Ming said that since it's the 2nd day the movie released, I can pay RM7. Thank God! If not I will be stuck with my laptop in APIIT for 5 hours doing god-knows-what.

Once we reached Times Square, we bought the tickets and went to get something to eat since there's around 40 minutes before the movie start (or 50 minutes before the movie REALLY starts). With me insisted on eating cheap food (since my wallet only have RM13 after buying the ticket), we went to eat at the Times Square food court, which I don't know it exist till today.

1 word, that place is almost EMPTY! I wonder how those people managed to open their food stall there or even to pay the RENTS! Anyway, I went to the Thai's Corner and get myself the cheapest food, Rice with Soup and Red Chicken. Funny thing is, when the food arrived...there's no soup...even the bill says there's no soup, only the rice...I don't know what to say...

After finished eating our food, we went to take a look at the Starbucks warehouse sale on that food court floor, where Starbucks were selling their notepads, bottles, mugs or anything that they used (No coffee by the way). There's a water dispenser where they filled it with Zen tea or somthing like that with some lemon. And it's free. When I drink it...Oh My God! It's the best lemon tea I've EVER drink! I wanted to drink more but my friends told me that the time is up, gotta go and watch the movie. With heavy heart I left the lemon tea...I wished I bought the bottle there so I can fill it with that precious lemon tea.

About the movie...You SHOULD go and watch it! It's darn good! So emotional, so many action! You will regret it if you missed it, especially you are a X-men fan.

After the movie, we went to lowyat since Loong Kor wants to claim back his girlfriend's laptop. And I want to walk around there to check out the price of some cheap mouse and laptop bag pack. Apparently the laptop have more problem than it looks, so we ended up sitting at Old Town White Coffee to drink something.

After a while, the laptop is fixed...but the time is 3.35 pm when we reached the car park. And the class starts at 2.55 pm and ends at 3.55 pm. Since it's already late, I decided not to go back to APIIT and tell my dad to fetch me home (since my home is quite close to Times).

Anyway, that's how I pass my 5 hours break again...ending up not going to the last class...because of a movie...speechless....

Lights out!

I just came out from bathing and suddenly, the lights and air-con started dancing(on and off, i mean) and poof! No electricity! and thank god I just took my bath. Bathing with no lights...I don't want to think about it.

Anyway, my dad went to get the candles to light up our home.

And I was bored so I played around with the shadow.

It's feels like 2 hours have passed before the TNB guys come and get it fix. My dad says that they must have come after the MU vs Tottenham football match.

Thank god they finally get it coming and done, cause my home hot like an oven (damn global warming). After the electricity comes back up, which is like 4 hours after the it went out, I'm just to tired and went to sleep.

And damn the football match...that match just wasted the reconnection time...zzzzzzzz

What should I do with expired Stout?

My fridge has Danish Royal Stout which my dad got it free from his shareholdings.

But that stout has expired 3 months ago.

Problem is...what should I do with it?

Should I let my dog drink it?

Or should I shake it, open the lid and watch it KA-BOOM ?

If you say drink it, then that's a BIG NO. I hate beers, and stout even more, not to mention an EXPIRED stout! I prefer lemonade!

Anyway, kindly leave your creative ideas here, as I can't wait to deal with that bitter liquid!

Playing games in APIIT's Mini Sports Carnival

Having 5 hours of break on Thurday again, so me and my friends decided to go back to APIIT(we were inside Enterprise 3) to eat our 5 hours. When we go through the Foyer, a kind lady from the Students’ Activities & Recreational Council (SARC for short) lets us take some "surprise" from her apron. I forgot to take the her picture and the apron because I was half awake.

Anyway, at 1st what I got from apron is a blank piece of paper. That lady then changed the paper to "1 Free Game of DDR(Dance Dance Revolution)", in which I said "I'm sucks in dancing leh". Then she changed the paper again to this

Hmm...not so bad... It's just throwing the some ball into this

Since it's still early and the booth haven't set up yet, we go to the syndicate room to spend out time.

After 2 hours and a lunch, I went to play and Xeleon used my camera to record. First, I used the free ticket to throw some balls into the frog.

The 2nd ball I missed because I was to try throwing into the eye. And the points I got was

Not so bad...I was getting high and wanted to try out the darts, but the person in charge went for lunch, so I play another game, which is throwing ball to topple the cans.

At the end of the day, my total points is 19.

There's other games too, but the people in charge went to lunch. Since 20 points only get you RM 1 Sports Carnival voucher, I decided to stop. Besides, I don't think I want to waste much money on things I have(UNO), and things I don't really like(Disney). If I do remember, 60 points get you UNO cards and 80 points, you get a pair of Disney Glass Cups.

You want Anything or Whatever?

After reading about Anything and Whatever canned drinks in Boss Stewie's blog a few weeks ago, I've been itching to try it out! After asking my classmate, apparently only 7-11 sells these drinks. And he said that all the Whatever he drinked is green tea. Kinda sucks.

Anyway, on my way home, there's a 7-11. So I drop in just to see if there's Anthing or Whatever. And it's there! So I happily bought 2 of them to drink back home~

As to what flavour I get, it's orange for Anything and green tea(seems like it's default) for Whatever. I was hoping that I get the apple tea...

Warning Letters from APIIT

I was planning to do this post a few weeks ago, but could find the time to do it (procrastination strikes again!), with exam and assignment coming up. Since now I'm fairly free, I decided to post it now. Better late than never :)

Before continuing, you should know that APIIT gives out 3 types or warning letters for not having at least 80% of attendence on each subject. 1st, they sent a blue 1. 2nd, yellow color. 3rd, RED color. 4th...I don't know what they will do neither do I want to try it.

2/3/2009 :

Got a blue warning letter for not having attendance rate of 80% in Introduction to Software Development(ISD). Attendance rate 0%.

What the hell? 0%? I only skip class for 2 times only! And there should be at least 10 lectures! Seems like the ISD lecturers not so fond of updating the web attendance.

25/3/2009 :

Got a yellow letter this time. Attendace rate 60 %.

Oh great ! The lecturers did update...but the total classes only 5. And I skip 2. So it's 60%.

zzzzz....is it so hard to update? I admit, the lecturers are good, but please update them! 1st time my dad get this letter, he was thinking what kind of "good" deed I've been doing in APIIT. I quickly explain that it's the lecturers fault. Lucky my butt didn't get whooped till Kingdom Come (I'm not a kid anymore! By the way, I copied the "Kingdom Come" from Boss Stewie. Hope you don't mind!).

2nd time my dad gets the letter, he acted calm and ask me if it's the lecturers' fault. I said "Of course". Thank god he's a cool dad. Otherwise I will be standing in LRT, lectures and sleeping with my butt up and face down for a month!(It's a joke, my dad wouldn't dare.)

Last I see, my attendance rate have increased to 88% (a nice number for chinese people) and the total classes is 17. No more letters....for now...

Darn it...I wanted to collect the whole set....blue, yellow and red...and stick it on my wall to show off.

My First Assignment Result in APIIT

Apparently the ISD test I said last post is not really a test...more like an Assignment Test where you do the test using the answers from the assignments you done. And the Assignment grade are as follows :

Fail (F) : 0~29%

Marginal Fail (E) : 30~39%

Pass (D) : 40~49%

Credit (C) : 50~59%, (B) : 60~69%

Distinction (A) : 70%+

And the result I get is...

...freakin' D! Means I just passed...which I don't know whether should I be happy or what? The lecturer said that failure rate > passing rate. But 90% of my friends passed and most of them get Bs. I think the lecturer is duping us....or this is the "surprise" news that she informed the VB.Net lecturer to tell us that passing rate > failure rate?

Anyway, I was err...don't know...sort of guessing it gonna be around C or D since I didn't do it whole heartily...next time I'm gonna get B....next time...

Monkey on MyVi

Continue on where I left off yesterday...my friends saw a monkey biting on the antenna of Perodua MyVi (for those who don't know, it's a rebadged Daihatshu Sirion). They quickly tell me to whip out my camera and take a shot at it, since I like to take photo.

That monkey almost jumped off the car when I take out my camera. Instinctly, I shouted "Wait!". And that monkey really WAIT! WAIT for me! Without taking anymore chances, I just shoot it without hesitation. This monkey must have thought that I'm crazy so he decided to see what I'm gonna do...

Am I lucky for not having a car? By the way, the Mitsubishi Lancer in this post parked quite near to the trees. I wonder if some monkey did drop by to "play"? (I'm jealous of your Lancer, and I hope the monkey did come and PLAY!)

My First Exam Result in APIIT

Oh yeah! Finally gotta back one of the exam papers. Although the first test is Introduction to Software Development, that paper, as our lecturer told us, is extremely hard to mark and many people failed...she even told us that her fingers can count all those who passed the ISD exam. Please don't be me...

Anyway, the exam paper that I got back yesterday is...Hardware, Software System and Network (HSSN for short)...and the result I get is...

...71! That's was more than what I thought I would get, which was around the passing mark (50~60). Oh yeah! I did a nice job~ Some of the sections I just circle or write some bullcrap, which garnered me some marks. Lucky!

After claming down, I took a picture of my mates' faces after they took their papers.

Most of them seem rather happy, except for the girl who looked like she wanted to rip my camera to pieces for taking pictures from morning till now.

After taking this picture, the lecturer was rather annoyed so she asked me "Do you want to lose the camera?". That question instantly caused my brain to remove all thoughts of further photo capturing and forced my muscle to put my camera back into my bag. Darn it...I was planning to take a few more of my friends pictures(Sorry jitren, shaun, long kor and matthew for not taking your pictures).

After finished comparing the right answers, the tutorial was over and we all can go back home. On the way to car park, my friends saw an unusual sight, in which I will post it tomorrow. Ciao~

What the? MIT Lancer with a P license?

I was walking to APIIT car park with my friends when I saw this beautiful Lancer beside my friends car.

"Nice car" I thought...till I saw this when I move closer to admire it.

What the hell? A Mitsubishi Lancer with a P lisence? That lucky guy just passed the exam and he got a brand new car? A big ass cool looking car?

While most of us who just passed our exam would most likely use our parents' old car to drive around or maybe a secondhand Proton Iswara, this guy must have a very good parents or they just hit the lottery!

When I see this car *sob*, I just remember I don't have a car *sob* Hence I have to hitchhike my friends car to go to LRT station. Lucky bastard with a Lancer...

P/S : While I was typing this post inside APIIT's computer lab, some a$$#o!e didn't turn off the computer beside me and he leave many unclosed task on the taskbar. Many people come to check if it was being used. After looking at the taskbar, they just leave. Some ask me if it was being used. I tell them to ask his friend who was beside the "unused" computer. Guys and girls! Please shut off your computer if you are not using it! Don't give people headache!

Would you just shut up!

Last Saturday, I was having my Malaysian Study at APIIT. The class started quite boring and I whipped out my Warhammer 40k novel to read. After a while, the lecturer starts asking why the Malays comprise of 50% of Malaysia population, Chinese 24%, Indian 7%, Indegenious 11% and others 7%.

Okay, that catch my attention. I put away my novel and start listening to him. He ask us why the malay population are so high and tell us to think outside of the box. Ya, think outside of the box. Why so HIGH ?

If a sex specialist answers, he might say "Cause they are good in bed". If a mathematician answer, he might say "Let's say every 2 couple produce 2 children, so [(total population * 50%)/2]^2 bla bla bla....." or something like that.

What if a student answers...and that is what happens in my class. That student (don't know her name nor did I took her picture) keeps talking about how the public university accepts more malays than other races, how we have to pay more for houses bla bla bla.

Even after the lecturer said "Okay", she still talking non-stop. And I started to get grumpy. Didn't she get the hint to STFU? Why keep talking as if you can change it. So called "woman are sensitive", I guess this 1 is not that sensitive.

I think that girl aroused a few males too. After she done talking, other male (seems like they don't want to lose their ego), started talking too. Oh great. And damn you, go join a debate team and talk cock at debate all you want, just don't bring you anger into the class.

Oh Yeah! Bought a Digital Camera Yesterday!

I just got my Panasonic Lumix LZ8 yesterday! Though it costs me RM 370 to get but it still worth it! On Friday(which is theday before yesterday), the Lumix was selling at RM339, but yesterday, the price shoots up to RM 399! WTF?!? Apparently some of the company misheard the price and sold it for RM 339, on the next day(which is yesterday), they don't dare lower the price anymore and set the RM 399 as nett price!

They also have to cut their pay to compensate for the loss! Luckily some of the promoter still remembers me and lowered the price to RM 370 and throw in a Uniross charger and battery. I thought to myself "I'm gonna get the battery anyway, and the Uniross charger + battery costs around RM 70+, it's still provide more value then yesterday's price!" Thus I walked away from PC Fair as a happy man. Some shots on my camera and it's packages:

A bad April Fools Day for My Friend

Been really busy reading Boss Stewie's blog, LengMou's blog (This 2 are really funny blog! You should check them out) and preparing for exam, so I have postponed this post for a long time. But no more. Now let the post begin~

After 2 hours of lecture on VB.Net, we (me, Xiao Ming, Shaun, Loung Kor and Tiny) decided to to go out and take a bite, since there's another 2 hours break before the next lecture. Few minutes of discussion on where to eat, we decided to got eat some noodle at Nippy Noodle Restaurant, Jalan Kinchai Lama.

My heart was ached with pain when I looked at the price. Holy Crap! RM7.20!?!? I think my stomach was full by looking at the price!

Anyway, it was a good meal, it's just that the price almost make my balls drop. I admit I'm a cheap ass, okay? What bearable in that restaurant is the drinks as they served in a really big cup(after cheating so much from your noodle).

Without knowing that Tiny's car had been "touched" before, we just drove back to APIIT as we are getting late for the next lecture. Curse the stupid road sign! Tricked us into going through a longer route! 1 roadsign that dictates "Seremban Highway" when there's 2 route you can choose! Out of being wrong we decided to follow the roadsign. There goes our precious 10 minutes!

Back in APIIT, we opened the boot and quickly took our bag while Tiny go and close the door. After we took our bag out, we just recalled there's no OTHER bag left in the boot. Holy Banana! His car has been jacked! Since non of us except Tiny brought a laptop, the sneaky took his bag. Loung Kor presume it's because Tiny bag is the heaviest.

Lucky the laptop that was stolen is his old 1. But inside the bag, there's his external hdd, his notes, pendrive, etc. The most unlucky thing is that there's Maths test the next day! He had to find people to lend him some notes (my notes were very messy).

Since this happened in April Fools, no 1 would believe us, and it's really funny looking the disbelief faces on my other friends. After this incident, my friend Tiny ain't gonna go out to grab a bite anymore. Poor him, poor us too ==

Please give some encouragement to my friend...

My friend, Jemerlyn, currently having some home issues at house ( read this and this for more info, using google translate). Her mom and dad is having a fight for 2 days non-stop. She even said that she want to run away with her small sis, never to come back. Now she's dreading to come home every weekend (she stays in a hostel, nearer to her university). She constantly complained about her hair loss, maybe becouse of her home issues.

I hope you fellow bloggers can give her some advice or encouragement, anything, to help her. My thanks to you all.

P.S : Don't tell her I refer you all to her site! She might kill me for being so nosy!

Air pollution Festival a.k.a. QingMing

If you want to mass burn something, there's no better day to do it than QingMing. Put all the things (ie your trash, exam papers, notes, toilet rolls, other paper that your would rather burn than recycle) you want to burn in your car, drive up to nearest cemetary and BURN!

If you still want satisfy the "burning" desire, you can always go to the nearby place where they would surely be be selling papers, albeit it's quite expensive for papers that have some colorings on it.

Or if you are feeling brave, you can try and ask some of the people who are buring their papers whether you can help them or not. Most will turn you down, but who knows?

So the earth hour has come and pass. Hope you guys and girls are proud of what you have done. That is, shut the light for only 1 hour.

If you really want to help the earth, there are plenty of ways, like using the reusable shopping bags and dump the plastic bag away. I wonder if there is going to be Bag Day where all day the people are using the reusable bag rather than plastic bag, and the shopping insist you on buying the bag and won't give the the "free" plastic bag no matter how much you begged or plead.

By the way, a friend of mine, Jemerlyn, shut off all the electrical appliances including the fan (but she leave it on for her grandma, gatta give the old people some pleasure). After the end of earth hour, she complains that it's freakin' hot. Your fault for being so devoted to the earth hour~

Anyway, about my part on the earth hour, I just shut the lights for twenty minutes before turning it back on because it's uncomfortable to use the computer in a dark environment. Besides, I don't want my eyesight to worsen again and have to ask my good dad to get me another spectacles. Besides, I participate in the earth hour similar-like activity every single day. I might even name my activity as Earth Day as I shut off my lights during the morning. Second thought, who doesn't shut off the lights in the morning anyway, except when you are in a dark room.

Not that I'm being sarcastic, but shutting off the lights (read : lights only) for 1 hour at night seems a little bit "imprudent". Shut off the lights when you need them the most, that's Earth Hour for you! Lucky they don't tell us to shut all other electrical appliances, I can't imagine living without my wife(read : computer).

Next time, I ain't gonna join this earth hour anymore. Just tell me to turn on the lights 5 minutes late for 12 days, or 1 minute late for 60 days.
