Exabytes Windows Virtual Server Review

VPS...VPS...Virtual Private Server...things that never crossed our mind, until the day where the electric current of your house suddenly gets a bit naughty and switch off the current when you're overloaded. Or maybe you're in a disaster, where the fire burn down your house, or the flood has make your house into a swimming pool.

Most of you might think that you can just get a new computer and reinstall all the stuff will do.

But what if you income comes from a software that has to run 24/7? What if you're hosting a game server, where all your clan members wants to play against each other regardless it's 2am in the morning? Perhaps you're hosting a website, uploading all the interesting stuff for others to see while earning some money yourself. Every second your server is down, you lose your money and your time. Not to mention some hairs too.

This is where the Virtual Private Server(VPS for short) comes in. You can run almost all your software without on it without any worries at all. And it runs 24/7 too, not to mention that whatever happens to your house, you can be sure that all your software and game server are running safely at other location.

Of all the VPS company, I would recommend that you try out Exabytes Windows Virtual Server. Why would I say that?

First of all, they use the newest technology for their server. For the technical guys and girls, the processor that they use is of Intel Xeon E5620(Codename - Gulftown), which has Hyper-Threading and Intel StepSpeed support too. In layman's term, this processor is more powerful than the one that powers your home computer and eats less wattage too. Talk about profiting and saving the earth at one go. Don't you wish that your grandchildren will have a greener environment to play around?

See how the processor clock itself down when you are not fully using it? +1 from the mother earth!

2nd point, if you decided to choose the VPS2 or VPS3 package from Exabytes, you can choose between the Windows 2003 Standard Edition or Windows 2008 Web Edition. Choosing the newer Windows 2008 Web Edition will ensure that you have a peace of mind as all your software will surely be able to run on it. And the Windows 2008 Web Edition will continue to receive support from Microsoft for a long time compared to the Windows 2003 Standard Edition.

Onto my third point. Imagine you were outside your house, enjoying a lovely dinner or vacationing in the beautiful beaches. Suddenly you recalled that you have to change some settings in your software and you need to do that now! If breaking off a date or rushing home from the beaches is not an option for you, fear not, as the VPS have a remote desktop access, which allows you to connect to your server from everywhere, as long there's Internet connection. Now you can work from anywhere(though it's not recommended to do that in a dinner, as it may result in a slap on your face).

4th point. Now you really want to have the ability to do all those things that I mention from point 1 to point 3, but you have no idea at all how to manage your own VPS, do not worry yourself, as Exabytes support team with special Windows Virtual Server knowledge is prepare to assist you in anyway. If you think that hosting your own VPS is cheaper, your hair will fall off faster than the leaves in autumn. Paying a specialized company that does the hosting is often cheaper and less time-consuming for you. Not to mention that the support team is on the phone 24/7, and they will surely be able to solve any of your problem till the wee hours of the morning.

5th point. If you are afraid of natural disaster ruining your precious data, or a thief try to steal all your financial data, then opting for the Exabytes VPS is you solution. "Hosted at Secured State of the Art Data Center - No more worry about fire, theft and power failure." From their site, you can be sure that no matter what happens, you data will remain at where you want it to be for a long long time(or until you decides to cancel off the VPS, but not wise, that decision is). Choosing the Exabytes VPS2/VPS3 will make sure that even the State of the Art Data Center getting fried or bombed to pieces, you backup data still lives, on other the other State of the Art Data Center.

Now onto my last point...the Exabytes VPS is FREE. For the 1st three months and the VPS2/VPS3 package of course. Worry that paying for a VPS might not be as profitable as hosting your own server? Now you can try a VPS to test out that theory. For a low one-time setup fee of RM50, you can begin to test your own VPS to see if you really enjoy the prospects of all the benefits that I mentioned above. Just eat less Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng and you can pay for it :)

What are you waiting for? This offer only lasts till 29th of June. It's time to move your desktop onto the cloud!

Assassin rules in Guild Wars!

Nothing beats assassin in killing stuff fast. NOTHING! You can pump up to 160dps with daggers or 170dps with scythe. Imagine 170dps spread across 3 enemies, though only the 1 with asuran scan get to be hit that hard while others get around 100dps or so. Bad thing is that scythe build is too enchantment dependent, so I don't really like to use that build. Dagger is good enough to me, not to mention an assassin with dagger looks cool too!

Bought some stuff at the PC Fair last week. 50pcs of blank DVDs and a RM10 Everglide g-1000 gaming mouse. Can't imagine the mouse selling for RM10 when the original price is RM80? Those stocks were old, and some even have problems, such as having a stiff right click. The one that I bought have some sinking problem with the sensitivity down button, but it's no big deal, since 400dpi is very slow.

Thank god that the 4mbps streamyx unipack has finally come to my home. After waiting for a month or so, and 5 to 6 phone calls did they come and get the line upgraded. Can't expect much from government staff anyway. Now I'm just waiting for the netbook to come, with the gaming mouse to complement it~

Bought a new mousepad : Steelpad QcK Mini!

A new mouse pad! Gaming mouse pad at that too! Steelpad QcK Mini! The best among the cheapest mouse pad. Costs me RM 25 including postage. The reason I bought it is because I don't want dust settling inside the mouse feet. And because my table is not that smooth, buying this 1 will help preserve my mouse feet and table surface. Luckily it's black, so it won't be that distinguished when there's dirt on it.

I test played this mouse pad by playing Yuri's Revenge with my big bro. It feels a lot better than that hard surface table. After playing for an hour or so, my hand still feels comfortable. It's maybe the smallest mouse pad, but it's big enough for me. Thanks to it, me and my brother managed to defeat 6 Brutal AIs!(It's actually more to my skill)

I'm gonna try playing Guild Wars with the mouse pad next time. Time to sleep~

Maid-Sama! Episode 1

It's been a long time since I last watched anime, and I can't even remember which last anime I watched. But anyway, I read the otaku zone on Sunday Star and wiki-ed storyline of this anime, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama (The Student Council President is a Maid!). Guess what, it kinda reminds me of Ouran High School Host Club.

Let's see.....storyline for Ouran High School Host Club is roughly like this : A school girl has a secret and a bunch of guys from a club(You know what club is that!) are keeping her secret for a reason.

Storyline for Kaichou wa Maid-Sama is roughly like this : A school girl has a secret and a bunch of guys from a club(You know what club is that!) are is keeping her secret for a reason.

See the familiarity? I guess maybe it's the storyline that attracts me to this anime, since I really like Ouran High School Host Club, but there's only one season and I can't get enough of it :(

About the quality of the anime, can't say that it's what I expected or not, since I don't really expect anything in the first place. The voice actor are not bad (the Usui voice sounds kinda familiar, but I don't know where I heard it before), the OP/Ending music aren't bad too. Though there are some differences compared to the manga, the differences are quite good, let us have more insight into the lives of misaki's sister and mother.

If you want more romantic + comedy + school environment anime, you can't go wrong with Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.
