Project Fix DVD player

My dad's DVD player had a little bit of a problem long time ago. And I don't have time to look into it until today. The problem is that the DVD tray wouldn't come out.

And so I stripped the DVD player's cloth outer shell.

DVD player

After much tinkering, apparently the problem is that the motor is too weak to move anymore. So dad, next time can you buy a DVD player that's not made in Malaysia!?!?

That DVD player is cheap for a damn reason, it will automatically malfunction after >2 years. Just think it as a long investment. Buying branded DVD players can last a you a long time. So we don't have to waste our $$ next time to buy another no-branded DVD player (I'm a thrifty freak, okay?).

Transformers...and having lunch at Brem Mall

Went to watch Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen on Wednesday. With Brem Mall being virtually unknown to other people, we (jitren, shyshy, tiny and me) booked our ticket easily(okay, we arrived early too).

Brem mall

Perhaps we arrived TOO early (movie starts at 2.30pm and we came at around 1pm), having 1 and a 1/2 hour to waste, we went to get some food. At first I thought we gonna eat at the food court.

food court

Since we were at a new place, we walked around before deciding which restaurant would have 4 nothing-to-do boys coming to their place to eat. Of all the places, they decided on a CHINESE restaurant.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="180" caption="Chinese name of the restaurant...Wang Jiao Cha Chan Ting (I think)"]chinese restaurant[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="The English name...more like teaching you how to speak Chinese"]restaurant english name[/caption]

Okay...now I shall let the food do the talking~

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="I think this is mushroom soup"]P1000828[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Szechuan Hot & Sour soup?"]P1000829[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="I don't what drink this is..."]P1000831[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="180" caption="This is my chinese tea. Cost me 90 cents. It's so cheap that they don't even gave me a straw."]P1000833[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="That's my food. Noodle + Pork slices + Pickles (A LOT OF THEM) + Dunno what Vegetable."]P1000835[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Jitren's and Tiny's Nasi Goreng. Both ordered the same food =="]P1000836[/caption]

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="And the dessert that comes with the nasi goreng. Tiny asked me to eat some because he was full."]P1000830[/caption]

After we finished the food we went and walk around the Brem Mall. And there's hardly any human there! It's like we are the only person there. I kid you not!

Saw some interesting seats while walking around.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Didn't your parents told you never to play while eating?"]Play while eat[/caption]

Anyway, we walk back to the cinema. Jitren and Shyshy decided to buy the popcorn + pepsi because they might have a chance to win Transformers T-Shirt. And that cost us not being able to watch 4 minutes intro of the movie. 4 minutes >< &^%Q^%W&E&(Q*&W(

Now, about the movie. IT's FREAKING GOOD! And so many Chevrolet cars too (God bless America)! That movie was so funny that I thought it was comedy flick rather than action. It's entertaining see how those Decepticons squashed the helpless humans. Muahahaha! Who told them to stand so close to them? Not to mention how Autobots and human could cooperate so good like they are best buddy.

What angers me the most was that someone dare bring a >5 year old kid into the cinema. And that kid siting a few chairs beside me. Thank god that kid didn't cry, he/she just make some sound and mimic how the Autobots talk. If that kid dares cry, I swear I will slap his/her face and kick him/her out of the cinema.(Joking, of course)

P/S : Michael Jackson died this day. Let us mourn him for all the songs he had made. RIP, MJ. Just don't go to the heaven and find little boys to play with again. OK? I'm Bad, I'm Bad, You know it~

Malay + English + Chinese = Head Scratching SMS

Recently I put up an ad in Mudah.my stating that I wish to sell something that I no longer used. Just after a few hours of putting the ad, there's a first client coming through...
G4 sawtooth ada lg x? Rmxx bole x? Jz smpan utk part.K?

Understand what the HELL he was trying to tell me? Even though I haven't used my malay for a long time, I think I still understand it a little bit...He was trying to say "G4 sawtooth ada lagi tak? Rmxx boleh tak? Just simpan untuk part. Ok?" (In English it means "Do you still have the G4 sawtooth?  Can you sell it at Rmxx? Just keep it for the parts. OK?")

The first "code" was quite easy, and I sent back my reply in PROPER malay. Just to give him a hint that YOUR MALAY SUCKS!!! USE THE PROPER MALAY NOOB!!!! And the next reply...
Loc mana?

Still quite easy..."Lokasi mana?" (Where's the location?). I'm still wondering if he was talking to me in Manglish (Malay + English). Again I reply in proper malay. Seems like this guy can't get a damn hint. Next reply came...
Jauh la plak...Sy kt s.Alam.

Now the code starting to get a bit hard..."Jauh la plak(WTF?)...Saya kat Shah Alam." (It's quite far....I'm at Shah Alam). Damn this a$$hole. Trying to play with me?
Xtau..Sy k.L kurg tau jalan r.

WTF?!?! That a$$hole add some chinese slang inside the SMS too?!?! "Tak tau....Saya Kuala Lumpur kurang tau jalan ar(<--This is the chinese slang, where we chinese add at the end of every sentence for god knows what reason)" (Don't know....Kuala Lumpur I don't really know the road). Now I'm getting really pissed....
Ok...Kul brape nk jmp? Rm100 k?

Is this guy for real? Who the hell can read his shitty SMS? "Ok...Pukul berapa nak jumpa? Rmxx OK?" (Ok...What time you want to meet? Rmxx OK?). By now I'm getting even more pissed....pissed off at an a$$hole who might have fail all of his language test!
Hilton r. Amcorp xtau r..Sy kalu sblah mlm free siang takut xsmpat.

This.....I have "decrypt" for a long time to understand what the hell he was trying to say at the last sentence....and I even have to ask my brother! "Hilton ar. Amcorp tak tau ar...Saya kalau sebelah malam free siang taku tak sempat"(Hilton. Amcorp I don't know...If at night I'm free, morning I might not be on time).

My face went from this

Normal Face

to this...

Head Scratching

In the end I didn't sell him the thing, because another person offer me higher price. I can't imagine how he's gonna talk to me....

P/S : There's one idiot sms me in the middle of the night at 3am to ask about the thing I'm selling! I sent an sms back at him scolding him for waking me up! These people....makes me speechless....

How many subjects did I take for my SPM?

Let me think....Chinese, English, English GCE-O, Malay.......the 3 science subjects, Physics, Biology, Chemistry.........and 2 maths, Modal Maths, Add Maths and...........the 2 LAP SAP subject, History and Moral.

Total is 11 subjects! And I got 5 As.

I had a hard time remembering all things in the subjects that I took in my SPM. What about those taking 15 subjects and up? Revising for 11 subjects is hard enough that I have to let go a few...non-essential subjects...

Those taking 15 subjects must have had their face buried in the book since the start of Form 5, or maybe Form 4. In the end, when you go up to university, the result would have been useless and you are back to square 1.

Now the ministry of education says that the maximum subject you can take is 10, or is it 11? Anyway, I think that's a good move, taking too much subject might take a toll on students' social life.....if they even have a social life......

To see that each year, student after student taking more subject and getting more As....really makes me sigh....in the end nobody really gives a S*** about how many As you got, but how much $$ you're making....and the more the better~

This is life~ Face it~ Show me the money~ And not your As~

P/S : Hardly see me really ranting, right?

You could buy a Car with an Alienware laptop!

For those who have no idea what the heck is Alienware, it's a company that sells gaming desktop and laptop. If you got the money, you can configure a LAPTOP that have 2 graphics card inside, provided you can pay for it. Anyway, Alienware is under Dell, which we all familiar with their brochures hogging our newspaper, and they have come to our shore recently.

Wanting to pass my time, I decided to check out their site on the new Alienware M17x. The base price is RM8.5k, compared to my measly RM1.5k laptop. Playing with the custumizing option, I created the most powerful(and expensive) version of M17x, which costs RM 26,673! You can buy a new Kancil car or a second-hand Proton Waja with it!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Picture is courtesy of Wikipedia~"]waja[/caption]

I kid you not! It's really true! If you wipe you butt with $$ notes, I guess RM27k for a laptop doesn't seem much. I can get 17 laptop the same as mine and still got $$ to drink some teh tarik. I'm just wondering if there's will ever be somebody paying RM27k for a laptop?

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Picture is courtesy of Alienware M17x~"]M17x[/caption]

Anyway, the specifications is as follows:

  • Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Extreme Mobile Processor QX9300 (2.53GHz/1066 FSB/ 12MB Cache)

  • Operating System : Genuine Windows Vista(R) Ultimate 64-bit SP1 Edition (English)

  • Software : Microsoft(R) Office Professional 2007 OEM Version (English)

  • HD display : 17.0 " Beyond HD 1200p WUXGA (1920x1200) CCFL Display with TrueLife TM

  • Memory : 8GB Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 4GB)

  • Hard Drive : 256GB Solid State Hard Drive RAID 1 (2x256GB)

  • Optical Drive : Slot Load Blu-ray BD-R, BD-RE / DVD + /-RW Drive with DVD + R double layer write

  • Video Card : SLI(TM) Dual 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 280M

So...a car or a laptop?

Kopi Jantan = Coffee for the males?

My dad and I went to a mamak restaurant today and heard somebody called for a "kopi jantan".  Can you imagine it? KOPI JANTAN! Literally translated as Male Coffee.

HAHAHA! What kind of substance they add inside to make it Jantan? Something that only male can produce? Maybe next they will make a Kopi Betina (Female Coffee)?

Okay, what really is this kopi jantan?

P/S : Saw someone from Chong Hwa today, that is, SUNDAY. Wearing school uniform with the Chong Hwa socks, I swear that girl looks familiar. I think she's from computer society too. My ex-club mate perhaps.

What do you do when 1 of your speakers went broke?

Actually, this speaker of mine have been with me for at least 2 years before 1 of it went malfunction. The right side is unable to produce sound, maybe because I always plug in the headphone jack into the speaker and finally it went kaput. Anyway, to fix this sound inequality, the genius brother of mine showed me a simply solution.

Coincidence

I was talking my exam this early morning and after the exam I talked to my friend, Xeleon about Nuffnang. Who would have thought that the guy sitting behind him is a nuffnanger too! And he went to the Standout party too even though he got exam the following week!

Anyway, the "Must follow procedure" when talking to a fellow blogger :

  1. Ask his/her name.

  2. Ask his/her blog address.

And I didn't do any of that! I was so relaxed after the exam finished I forgot to ask his when he was asking mine!

So...if the guy who sits at the back of Xeleon looking at this...What is your name and blog address?

P/S : Screw the exam, next time Nuffnang organize what party I'm gonna go, except when it's very very FAR.

My first exam in APIIT

Tomorrow's is my first exam in a university environment. And 1 thing about exam.

I hate them!

Imagine sitting in a place for 2 hours where you can't look around nor move around and being forced to stare at the exam paper whether you know how to do it or not.

A trip down the Memory Lane~

I was looking for a tripod in my dad's room and suddenly come across a familiar looking bag. As I opened it...I remembered....it's the camera bag that I used when I was in the  photography club when I'm in Form 1.

Talk about Form 1...that time my body is so big I thought I was related to Naughty Professor. Don't believe me? Take a look...

Testing the theory of "Read, man!"

For those who don't know about the article, you can read it here.

The "Read, man!" article by Abby Wong is published in The Star around 2 weeks ago and there were a lot of people agree with the article, that man is attractive when reading.

So I let you all compare these 2 photos...
